Located in the heart of Austria, Dachstein West offers a large ski area set amongst a stunning backdrop. The resort is more popular among families and offers a wide range of skiing to suit all levels.

Dachstein West offers three snow-sure areas; Russbach, Annaberg and Gosau.

The resort is accessible from Salzburg airport in under an hour by car! Skiers may also use this central base to explore dozens of other nearby Austrian ski resorts, including the better known Zell am See and Kitzbühel.

Relatively undiscovered by the British, the majority of skiers here seem to be locals and Dutch.

The Skiing in Dachstein West:

The Dachstein West ski area has 150km of ski slopes to suit all levels from beginners to experts, but is weighted more towards red runs for the intermediate skier.

The lift pass allows skiers and snowboarders access to any of the ski resorts in the area, including Russbach, Annaberg and Gosau.

There is plenty of off-piste skiing in Dachstein West and forests offering picturesque cross-country skiing trails.
