Resort Overview for Les Contamines:

The traditional alpine ski resort of Les Contamines-Montjoie is a hidden gem. Over crowding doesn’t seem to be a problem here as most tourists tend to visit the more popular nearby resort of Chamonix.

Just over an hour from Geneva, this resort offers some fantastic skiing for all levels, with stunning views of Mont Blanc from this unspoilt French village.

The Skiing in Les Contamines:

With approximately 120km of skiing, the runs here may get a little limited for some. But you will find with Les Contamines, it’s quality that counts, not quantity.

For those who do want to ski more mileage in their days, a Mont Blanc pass will offer over 400km of runs, including resorts such as St. Gervais, Megeve, Combloux and St.Nicolas de Vérace. A great base for all levels of skier!

Après Ski in Les Contamines:

Nightlife here is not obvious on the surface and may seem a little on the quiet side. However, for those seeking a lively après ski, there are certainly bars & nightclubs well worth visiting, such as the Igloo which is open till the early hours. Bars tend to have more of a traditional French feel, with some offering Live Bands.

Families will certainly have enough to do here with a friendly and quiet atmosphere throughout the village. There are several restaurants available offering some excellent meals.
