At an altitude of 1263 meters, the sleepy ski resort of Leysin sits at the Eastern edge of Lake Geneva in the district of Aigle. Leysin is a small, peaceful town once famous for its treatment centres for tuberculosis and is now a popular ski resort.

Leysin is earning a reputation as the college-centre for Switzerland as it has five international schools.

Leysin is not a large resort and would be ideal for families or groups not looking for wild nightlife.

Leysin is located only a 2 hour drive from Geneva airport in Switzerland. The nearest main railway station is to Leysin is located at Aigle, where you can then get a cog-wheel train directly into the resort.

The Skiing in Leysin:

The ski slopes in Leysin offer plenty for beginners. Advanced skiers can choose from the handful of red and black runs, or head for the large area of off-piste.

Skiing is also available in nearby Les Diablerets and Villars, so add that to Leysin and you’ll easily have enough to keep you occupied for your ski holiday here.
