Resort Overview for Mont Tremblant:

Ski resort overview for Mont TremblantMont Tremblant (meaning "Trembling Mountain" in French) is nestled in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, Canada. It is the best known ski resort in Eastern Canada and was the very first resort in the country to open for skiing, in 1938.

Tremblant is a purpose built resort and is owned by Intrawest, who have invested around 1 billion Canadian dollars to expand both the skiable terrain and the town.

The resort falls within the 370,000 acres of Mont Tremblant National Park. So after a hard day's skiing you can give one of the many other activities here a try, including dog-sledding, ice-climbing, snowmobiling and tree-climbing (called Acrobranche!). You can also take airplane rides in a Cessna snow plane over the national park, or relax in one of the many saunas, jacuzzis and massage parlours.

Mont Tremblant is 90km North of Montreal and can be accessed by car in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Montreal airport. Tremblant does have its own airport but flights here only come in from New York, Toronto and Kitchener.

The Skiing in Mont Tremblant:

Ski resort review for Mont TremblantWhilst big plans are in store for Tremblant with a new investment, there is still plenty of skiing to be had here in the meantime. The mountain is host to approximately 12,000 skiers a day with over 600 acres of skiable terrain.

Advanced skiers can have a great time in snowparks, with plenty of rails, kickers and halfpipes. There's also plenty for the intermediates and beginners with long, wide, scenic runs.

Tremblant is also well-known for its cross country skiing, with 100km of trails.

Après Ski in Mont Tremblant:

After a hard day's skiing you can head for one of the many saunas or steam baths. If you're still feeling energetic you could give horseback riding a try (yes, in the Winter) or go dog-sledding!

Night life here is certainly not boring, with plenty of restaurants and bars. Dining out will suit all tastes here with plenty to choose from. Make sure you visit the microbrewery, Microbrasserie la Diable, for some local beers!

For some fine dining head to Aux Truffes, or look for Loup-Garou for some traditional Quebec cuisine by a warm fire.
