Resort Overview for St Gervais:

Ski resort overview for St GervaisSaint Gervais is an old spa town sitting next to Mont Blanc and has been busy with tourists since 1806. The town itself dates back to Roman times, and has been used as a skiing resort since before the 1st World War.

It is perhaps not the most famous resort in the area, but this works to its advantage as it feels like more of a real town, as opposed to merely a skiing resort. More popular with the French and Italians, Saint Gervais is a beautiful town offering a range of skiing for all abilities.

Sitting at 850m, the runs are nicely tree-lined, however snowfall in the resort itself can tail off towards the end of the season.

The slopes are linked to Saint Nicolas and Megève, and together they make the largest inter-connected ski area (300km) within the greater Mont Blanc pass area.

The Skiing in St Gervais:

Ski resort review for St GervaisSaint Gervais offers a wide range of slopes to cater for all levels of skier. There are some very challenging black and reds, along with some confidence-building blues for the intermediates and beginners.

The resort is ideally situated in the region as it's part of a lift-linked 300km ski region shared with Megève and located in the centre of the huge part-linked Pays Du Mont Blanc pass area. This area covers 13 resorts including Chamonix and Courmayeur in Italy, offering access to 700km of terrain. Saint Gervais's main mountain is Mont d'Arbois from where it's possible to ski down to Megève.

Après Ski in St Gervais:

Saint Gervais is probably better suited to families than a younger crowd. Whilst there are several bars, restaurants, and even a nightclub, the Saint Gervais nightlife is fairly limited. Fortunately, the resort is perfectly situated between Chamonix and Megève so you can reach livelier spots in just a short drive.
